Verbo que significa tocar, palpar o tantear en busca de algo, generalmente implicando una exploración táctil más que visual. En Lucas 24:39, el Cristo resucitado invita a sus discípulos a palparlo para verificar su realidad corporal. Primera de Juan 1:1 retoma esta imagen con manos que han palpado al Verbo de vida. Hechos 17:27 lo emplea en sentido figurado para describir a la humanidad buscando a Dios a tientas en la oscuridad espiritual.
