Necesidad, carencia — estado de requerir lo que falta, o el servicio/tarea que debe cumplirse
Χρεία designa la condición de necesitar algo — ya sea espiritual, físico o práctico — y, por extensión, aquello que se necesita o el servicio que se presta. Jesús declara que «los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico» (Mt 9:12), el Padre «sabe lo que necesitáis antes de que se lo pidáis» (Mt 6:8), y la iglesia primitiva repartía «según cada uno tenía necesidad» (Hch 2:45; 4:35). Pablo amplía el término hacia la teología de la interdependencia dentro del cuerpo de Cristo: «el ojo no puede decir a la mano: No te necesito» (1 Co 12:21). En ocasiones χρεία se acerca a «tarea» o «servicio»: el Señor «tiene necesidad» del pollino (Mt 21:3).
