προφητ-ικός G4397
prophetic, pertaining to or characteristic of prophecy or a prophet
An adjective qualifying things related to prophecy. In Romans 16:26, Paul describes the gospel mystery now revealed through prophetic writings (the OT scriptures understood in light of Christ). In 2 Peter 1:19, Peter commends the prophetic word as a lamp shining in darkness until the day dawns. Both passages affirm the divine origin and reliability of prophetic scripture—texts that point forward to and illuminate God's redemptive plan.
