Poner fundamento, establecer firmemente; cimentar algo de manera segura, literal o espiritualmente
Significa poner un fundamento o establecer algo sobre una base firme. Aunque se origina en el lenguaje de la construcción —asentar piedras para un edificio—, el Nuevo Testamento lo extiende con fuerza al terreno espiritual. Cristo cimenta a los creyentes en el amor (Ef 3:17), la fe debe permanecer fundada e inconmovible (Col 1:23), y Dios mismo establecerá a quienes sufren (1 Pe 5:10). Las traducciones al español 'cimentados' y 'fundados' captan bien tanto el registro arquitectónico como el metafórico de este verbo.

1. Cimentar o fundar — Poner un fundamento o establecer firmemente, tanto en sentido de construcción física como de arraigo espiritual. En Matt 7:25 la casa edificada sobre la roca estaba bien fundada y resiste la tormenta; Heb 1:10 cita el Salmo 102 declarando que el Señor fundó la tierra. Los usos metafóricos son igualmente vívidos: Ef 3:17 ora para que los creyentes estén 'arraigados y cimentados' en amor; Col 1:23 exhorta a permanecer 'fundados y firmes'. 5×
