Este verbo significa insultar o tratar con ultraje y desprecio, especialmente en relación con cosas sagradas. Hebreos 10:29 advierte del severo castigo para quienes «ultrajen al Espíritu de gracia». Se trata de un rechazo voluntario y arrogante de la oferta misericordiosa de Dios.
