Gabriel tells Zechariah not to fear 'because your prayer has been heard' (Luke 1:13); there was no room in the inn 'because' (Luke 2:7); Paul is told to keep speaking in Corinth 'because I have many people in this city' (Acts 18:10). In two passages, however, the word tilts toward inference — 'therefore' in Acts 13:35 and 20:26 — where it draws a conclusion from preceding argument. Spanish 'porque' and 'por lo cual,' French 'parce que,' and German 'weil' map this causal-to-inferential range clearly.
