Verbo que significa relampaguear o resplandecer como un rayo. Jesús describe su venida como el relámpago que destella de este a oeste (Lucas 17:24). En la resurrección, dos hombres con vestidura resplandeciente aparecen a las mujeres (Lucas 24:4). El uso clásico describía rayos de luz, armas o armaduras relucientes, y rostros brillantes. El Nuevo Testamento lo emplea para resplandor sobrenatural asociado con la presencia divina o eventos escatológicos.
