No creer, rehusar creer o ser infiel; la contraparte verbal de ἄπιστος (incrédulo).
Derivado del prefijo privativo alfa (ἀ-) y πιστεύω (creer), este verbo describe el rechazo activo o la incapacidad de creer. Aparece en momentos narrativos decisivos: los discípulos que no creen el informe de la resurrección (Mar 16:11; Luc 24:11, 41), la respuesta dividida ante la predicación de Pablo en Roma (Hch 28:24) y la solemne advertencia de que quien no creyere será condenado (Mar 16:16). En 2 Timoteo 2:13 adquiere un giro teológico notable: aunque seamos infieles, Dios permanece fiel. El término abarca tanto la incredulidad puntual ante un mensaje como la infidelidad persistente de carácter.

Los discípulos 'no creyeron' (ἠπίστησαν) el testimonio pascual de las mujeres (Mar 16:11; Luc 24:11), y algunos en Roma 'no creyeron' la enseñanza de Pablo sobre Jesús (Hch 28:24). El español alterna entre 'incrédulos' y 'no creyeron', reflejando tanto la postura de resistencia como la negativa deliberada a aceptar la verdad.
