En contextos de adoracion significa ofrecer sacrificios o alabanzas a Dios, como en Hebreos 13:15 y 1 Pedro 2:5. Cuando se aplica a personas, describe el acto fisico de conducir a alguien a un lugar elevado, como cuando Jesus lleva a Pedro, Santiago y Juan al monte de la transfiguracion (Mt 17:1). De manera mas notable, en Hebreos 9:28 y 1 Pedro 2:24, adquiere fuerza vicaria: Cristo llevo nuestros pecados sobre la cruz.
