Verbo que abarca todo el proceso de crianza y formación de una persona. Moisés fue «criado» en la casa de la hija del faraón y educado en la sabiduría egipcia (Hechos 7:20-21). Pablo fue «criado» en Jerusalén a los pies de Gamaliel (Hechos 22:3). En el griego clásico, el término incluye alimentar a alguien para que recupere la salud, criar ganado y educar a los hijos. Engloba tanto el sustento físico como la formación integral de la persona.
