Gritar fuertemente, dar alaridos; estallido vocal intenso, frecuentemente asociado a encuentros demoníacos o clamor de multitudes.
Compuesto de ἀνά (arriba) y κράζω (gritar), este verbo denota un estallido vocal súbito y enérgico, más fuerte y convulsivo que el habla ordinaria. En Marcos y Lucas aparece predominantemente en relatos de exorcismo, donde los espíritus inmundos chillan a través de sus víctimas (Mr 1:23, Lc 4:33, Lc 8:28). El grito aterrorizado de los discípulos al ver a Jesús caminando sobre el agua (Mr 6:49) y la exigencia vociferante de la multitud pidiendo a Barrabás (Lc 23:18) completan el uso neotestamentario. El español distingue bien los matices: 'gritó' para un alarido puntual, 'clamando' para un clamor sostenido.
