Cambiar, alterar, intercambiar o transformar; usado tanto del intercambio pecaminoso como de la transformación escatológica.
Verbo que abarca todo el espectro desde el intercambio deliberado hasta la transformación divina. Pablo emplea la voz activa de manera impactante en Romanos 1:23, donde la humanidad 'cambió' (ἤλλαξαν) la gloria de Dios por ídolos, un trueque voluntario y desastroso. En marcado contraste, la voz pasiva aparece en 1 Corintios 15:51-52 para la transformación de los creyentes en la resurrección: 'seremos transformados' (ἀλλαγησόμεθα). Así, la misma raíz lleva tanto el peor intercambio de la humanidad como el mayor don de Dios. Hechos 6:14 añade la acusación de que Jesús 'cambiaría' las costumbres mosaicas.
