ἀγαπητός — amado, querido; designación divina del Hijo único y tratamiento afectuoso entre creyentes.
El adjetivo ἀγαπητός («amado») deriva del verbo ἀγαπάω y expresa un amor profundo y entrañable. Sus 61 apariciones neotestamentarias se reparten en dos contextos principales. Primero, es la designación divina de Jesús en su bautismo y transfiguración: «Este es mi Hijo amado, en quien tengo complacencia» (Mt 3:17; 17:5; Mr 1:11; 9:7). En la parábola de los labradores malvados, el dueño envía a «su hijo amado» como emisario final (Mr 12:6; Lc 20:13). Segundo, Pablo y los demás autores epistolares lo emplean como tratamiento afectuoso para los creyentes: «amados hermanos» (1 Co 15:58; Fil 4:1).
