LagBN 50; Arabic نَسًا appar. the portion of the principal vein of the leg which is in the thigh, vulg. sciatic vein, or (mod.) sciatic nerve and even sciatica, Lane 3033);—only גִּיד הַנָּשֶׁה Gn 32:33 a the sinew of the thigh-vein (or thigh-nerve, אֲשֶׁר עַל־כַּף הַיָּרֵךְ cf. v 33b.—On sacredness of thigh, cf.
