Kisloth-tabor (a town near Mount Tabor)
Kisloth-tabor, meaning 'flanks of Tabor,' was a town at the western base of Mount Tabor on Issachar's border (Joshua 19:12). It is the same location as Kesulloth mentioned in Joshua 19:18, with the fuller name making the geographical relationship to Tabor explicit. The site has been identified with modern Iksal. The name evokes the image of the town nestled against the side or flank of the prominent Mount Tabor, which rises dramatically from the Jezreel Valley. Tabor later became famous as a possible site of Jesus' transfiguration.
