Scholars widely regard this as a textual error for Helqat (חֶלְקַת), which appears in the parallel lists in Joshua 19:25 and 21:31. The similar spelling and easy confusion of Hebrew letters ק and ת likely caused the scribal variation. Modern archaeological excavations at Huqoq in Galilee have uncovered a significant late antique synagogue, though the biblical identification remains uncertain.
