Verbo que expresa gozo y alegría. Jetro «se alegró» por todo el bien que el SEÑOR había hecho a Israel (Ex 18:9), Job maldice el día de su nacimiento deseando que «no se cuente entre los días del año» (Job 3:6), y el salmista declara que Dios «lo llena de alegría con su presencia» (Sal 21:6). No se trata de una felicidad superficial, sino de una respuesta profunda ante la bondad divina, ya sea la liberación de Dios o el don de la vida misma, o su trágica ausencia.
