Going, procession, way; ranging from a sacred march to habitual conduct to a traveling caravan.
Halikhah captures movement in its fullest range, from the solemn march of God into His sanctuary to the everyday ways of a capable household manager. In Psalm 68:24, the processions of God are witnessed entering the holy place, a theophanic spectacle. Proverbs 31:27 uses the plural for the 'goings' or daily management of a household, while Habakkuk 3:6 speaks of God's eternal 'ways.' In Job 6:19, the caravans of Tema search desperately for water, and the word takes on a concrete, collective sense of travelers on the move.

Senses
1. procession, march A procession or sacred march, especially the theophanic progress of God into the sanctuary. Psalm 68:24 uses the plural twice: 'They have seen your processions, O God, the processions of my God, my King, into the holy place.' Spanish procesiones and Korean haengryeol ('procession') confirm the ceremonial, public-spectacle quality. Nahum 2:5 extends this to the stumbling march of warriors.

2. ways, habits, conduct Ways, habits, or conduct in an abstract sense. Proverbs 31:27 describes the valiant woman watching over the halikhot of her household; Habakkuk 3:6 speaks of God's everlasting ways or paths. Spanish caminos ('paths, ways') and the abstract metaphorical extension show the word moving from physical movement to habitual behavior and divine governance.

3. caravan, traveling company A caravan or traveling company, a group of people journeying together. Job 6:19 pairs the caravans of Tema with the traveling companies of Sheba, both seeking water in the wilderness. Spanish viajeros ('travelers') captures the collective human sense. Arabic rukban ('riders, caravan') provides a cognate semantic parallel for this concrete, commercial meaning.
