La Guitit: término musical en títulos de salmos, posiblemente un instrumento o una melodía
Este sustantivo femenino aparece únicamente en los encabezados de los Salmos 8, 81 y 84 con la frase «sobre la Guitit» (עַל־הַגִּתִּית). Su significado es debatido. Las versiones antiguas sugieren: (1) una lira o instrumento musical de Gat, (2) una melodía asociada con la ciudad de Gat, o (3) un canto para la vendimia, si se lee como «lagares». El Targum favoreció la interpretación instrumental. Los eruditos modernos siguen divididos. Sea cual fuere su sentido exacto, funcionaba como indicación técnica musical para el coro levítico al interpretar estos salmos.
