Guni, a personal name borne by a son of Naphtali and a Gadite, also the ancestor of the Gunite clan
A proper name of uncertain etymology, borne by at least two Old Testament figures. The primary Guni is a son of Naphtali listed among those who went down to Egypt with Jacob (Gen 46:24), and he becomes the eponymous ancestor of the Gunite clan enumerated in the wilderness census (Num 26:48). A second Guni appears in the Gadite genealogy of 1 Chronicles 5:15. The name recurs in 1 Chronicles 7:13 in the Naphtalite genealogy, confirming the tribal lineage.
