1. hind, doe, female deer — The feminine noun ayyalah denoting a female deer (hind, doe), used across poetic, wisdom, and prophetic literature. In Genesis 49:21, Naphtali is compared to a doe let loose. In Job 39:1 and Psalm 29:9, deer calving is referenced. In Song of Songs 2:7 and 3:5, the does of the field serve as an oath formula. In 2 Samuel 22:34 and Psalm 18:33, feet like hinds' feet describe agility. In Habakkuk 3:19, the simile is likewise of sure-footedness. All clusters represent the same zoological referent -- the female cervid -- with differences only in syntactic framing (absolute, construct with prepositions b-/k-, plural).
