Tychikos (Tychicus) was a believer from the Roman province of Asia who became one of Paul's most dependable co-workers, serving as personal emissary and letter-bearer. He accompanied Paul on his final journey to Jerusalem (Acts 20:4) and later carried the epistles to the Ephesians and Colossians, tasked with reporting on the apostle's circumstances and encouraging the churches (Eph 6:21-22; Col 4:7-8). Paul calls him 'the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord,' a commendation echoed by the uniform cross-lingual rendering of his name -- Spanish Tychikos, French Tychique, German Tychikus -- all preserving the Greek form with minimal adaptation.
