Humilde, de baja condición; de posición social modesta o disposición sencilla, usado a menudo de quienes Dios exalta.
Adjetivo que describe a alguien de baja condición social, de autovaloración modesta o socialmente insignificante. En el Magnificat, María celebra que Dios ha exaltado a los humildes (Lc 1:52), invirtiendo las jerarquías del mundo. Jesús mismo se declara 'manso y humilde de corazón' (Mt 11:29), convirtiendo este término en un marcador cristológico. Pablo exhorta a los creyentes a no ser altivos sino a asociarse con los humildes (Ro 12:16), y Santiago promete que el 'hermano humilde' será exaltado (Stg 1:9). El término abarca tanto la dimensión social como la espiritual de la humildad.
