to be angry with, indignant toward, or weary of someone or something
A verb expressing strong displeasure or weariness. Both NT uses are in Hebrews 3, quoting Psalm 95. In verse 10, God says he was angry with that generation (the wilderness rebels). In verse 17, the author asks rhetorically with whom God was angry for forty years. The Septuagint background includes the sense of loathing or being vexed, capturing God's righteous anger at persistent unbelief.
