Manso, apacible, humilde de carácter; quien ejerce el poder con moderación en lugar de agresividad.
Describe una cualidad de fortaleza apacible: no debilidad, sino poder bajo control. Jesús se lo aplica a sí mismo («soy manso y humilde de corazón», Mt 11:29) y aparece en la promesa de las Bienaventuranzas de que los mansos heredarán la tierra (Mt 5:5). La cita de Zacarías en Mateo 21:5 presenta al rey mesiánico como πραΰς, montado humildemente sobre un asno. Pedro elogia un «espíritu apacible y tranquilo» como precioso ante Dios (1 P 3:4). El término asocia constantemente la mansedumbre con la autoridad.
