To be fully convinced or thoroughly assured; also to fulfill, accomplish, or bring to complete fruition.
Plērophoreō carries the root idea of 'filling to the full,' and in the NT it branches into two distinct applications. On one hand, it describes the inner state of being thoroughly convinced or fully assured: Abraham was 'fully persuaded' that God could do what he promised (Rom 4:21), and Paul insists each believer should be 'fully convinced in his own mind' about disputable matters (Rom 14:5). On the other hand, it describes the external completion of divine purposes: Luke opens his Gospel by mentioning events 'fully accomplished among us' (Luke 1:1), and Paul charges Timothy to 'fulfill' his ministry (2 Tim 4:5). Spanish distinguishes the two neatly -- 'plenamente convencido' for conviction versus 'cumplir' for fulfillment.

2. to fulfill, bring to completion — To fulfill, bring to full completion, or accomplish entirely. Luke 1:1 speaks of events peplērophorēmenōn ('fully accomplished') among the first believers. Paul tells Timothy to plērophorēson his ministry -- carry it out to the full (2 Tim 4:5) -- and reports that through him the message was plērophorēthē, fully proclaimed (2 Tim 4:17). Spanish 'cumplir/cumplidas' and English 'fulfill' highlight the sense of bringing a task or divine purpose to its intended completion. 3×
