young man, youth, a male in the vigor of early adulthood
A young man is a male in youthful vigor, past boyhood but not yet settled in maturity. Witnesses laid their garments at the feet of 'a young man named Saul' at Stephen's stoning (Acts 7:58). Eutychus, 'a young man,' fell from a window during Paul's long sermon (Acts 20:9). Paul was warned by 'the son of Paul's sister, a young man' (Acts 23:17). The term marks energetic young adulthood. Spanish 'joven' and French 'jeune homme' consistently identify this life stage.

Senses
1. sense 1 A young man or youth, a male in the stage of early adulthood marked by vigor and strength. All three NT occurrences are in Acts: Saul at Stephen's martyrdom (7:58), Eutychus who fell from the window (20:9), and Paul's nephew who warned of the ambush (23:17). The Greek νεανίας emphasizes the youthful, active phase between adolescence and established maturity. Across languages—'joven' (Spanish), 'jeune homme' (French)—the term designates this clear life stage.
