Its four New Testament uses divide into two pairs: the visible transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain (Matt 17:2, Mark 9:2), where his face and garments radiated divine glory, and the ongoing spiritual transformation of believers (Rom 12:2, 2 Cor 3:18). Paul's command to 'be transformed by the renewing of your mind' uses the passive voice, indicating that this change is wrought by God.
