Tesoro, riqueza acumulada; un depósito o repositorio de cosas valiosas, ya sean materiales o espirituales. θησαυρός designa tanto el tesoro en sí como el lugar donde se guarda: un almacén o tesorería. Jesús lo usa en el Sermón del Monte para contrastar el tesoro terrenal, vulnerable a la polilla y la herrumbre, con el tesoro imperecedero en el cielo (Mt 6:19-21). También habla del corazón como un θησαυρός del cual fluye lo bueno o lo malo (Mt 12:35; Lc 6:45). Los magos abren sus cofres de tesoros ante el niño Cristo (Mt 2:11). Pablo habla de los 'tesoros de sabiduría y conocimiento' escondidos en Cristo (Col 2:3).
