Well; an adverb of commendation or competence, indicating something done rightly, thoroughly, or with moral excellence.
A versatile Greek adverb signaling approval, competence, or moral goodness. In everyday speech it functions much like English 'well' — describing an action done properly or a state of being that is right and fitting. In the Gospels it takes on a distinctive commendatory force when a master addresses a faithful servant: 'Well done, good and faithful servant!' (Matt 25:21, 23; Luke 19:17). The Spanish 'bien-hecho' and German 'Εὖγε' both capture that exclamatory, praise-laden tone. Elsewhere it simply means 'rightly' or 'fittingly' (Acts 15:29; Eph 6:3).
