bring in, carry into (physical movement); lead into, bring into (temptation or trial)
2. lead into, bring into (temptation or trial) To lead or bring someone into a situation, specifically into temptation or testing. This usage appears in the Lord's Prayer in both Matthew (6:13) and Luke (11:4): me eisenegkes hemas eis peirasmon 'do not lead us into temptation.' The construction is aorist subjunctive with a negative (prohibitive), and the nuance is of God's sovereign guidance -- the petition asks not to be brought into a situation of testing. Also covers Luke 12:11 where believers are 'brought before' synagogues and authorities (eispherosin). Hebrew glosses use tevi'enu (hiphil of bo', 'cause to enter'); Arabic tudkhilna; Korean ikkeulji-masoseo; Spanish nos-metas. This sense is distinguished from physical carrying/bringing by its metaphorical or judicial destination.

1. bring in, carry into (physical movement) To carry or bring something or someone physically into a place. In Luke 5:18-19, friends try to 'bring in' (eisenegkein/eisenegkosin) a paralyzed man into the house where Jesus is teaching. In 1 Tim 6:7, Paul observes 'we brought nothing into the world' (eisenegkamen). In Heb 13:11, the blood of animals 'is brought into' (eispheretai) the holy place by the high priest. In Acts 17:20, the Athenians say Paul is 'bringing' (eisiphereis) strange things to their ears. These all share the core spatial semantics of movement into an enclosed space or defined domain. Hebrew glosses use lehakhnis 'to bring in,' hevi'enu 'we brought,' muva 'is brought'; Arabic udkhilu; Korean deuryeogi/gajyeogi; Spanish meter/trajimos.
