corruption, decay, decomposition
1. corruption, decay, decomposition The process of physical decomposition or rotting of organic matter, especially of a dead body in the grave; used theologically in the context of the resurrection to assert that God's Holy One would not undergo bodily decay. Both sense clusters share the same accusative singular case form (N-AFS) and identical semantic content — there is no meaningful distinction between them. Multilingual glosses are virtually identical: Spanish 'corrupción' in both clusters, Arabic 'فَسادًا' / 'فَسَادًا' (corruption, same word with minor orthographic variation), Swahili 'kuoza' (to rot/decay) in both, Korean '썬음' (decay/rotting). All 6 occurrences appear in Acts 2:27, 31; 13:34-37 in the context of Peter's and Paul's sermons about Christ's resurrection, quoting or alluding to Psalm 16:10 (LXX Ps 15:10), arguing that David's body saw corruption but Christ's did not.
