This adjective means sufficient or enough for a given purpose. Jesus teaches that each day's trouble is 'sufficient' for that day—don't borrow tomorrow's anxiety (Matt 6:34). He tells disciples it is 'enough' for them to become like their teacher (Matt 10:25). Peter writes that the time already past is 'sufficient' for doing what Gentiles desire; now live differently (1 Pet 4:3). The word emphasizes adequacy without excess, contentment with what meets the need, and the completion of a measure.
