El sustantivo תֹּאַר (toar) designa la forma exterior, figura o apariencia física: la silueta visible que una persona presenta a la vista. Casi siempre describe la belleza humana o su ausencia, típicamente emparejado con מַרְאֶה (aspecto/apariencia) en la frase יְפַת/יְפֵה תֹּאַר ('hermosa/hermoso de forma'). Raquel (Gn 29:17), José (Gn 39:6), Abigail (1 Sam 25:3) y Ester (Est 2:7) reciben esta descripción. En marcado contraste, el Siervo Sufriente no tiene 'forma' que nos atraiga (Is 52:14; 53:2).
