Sarón — la fértil llanura costera del Mediterráneo, célebre por su belleza y pastizales
Sarón designa la amplia y fértil llanura que se extiende a lo largo de la costa mediterránea de Israel, aproximadamente desde Jope hacia el norte hasta el monte Carmelo. Renombrada por su exuberante vegetación, aparece en la poesía profética como símbolo de esplendor natural: «la gloria del Carmelo y de Sarón» (Is 35:2) y «Sarón será lugar de pastoreo para los rebaños» (Is 65:10). Su devastación se convierte en imagen del juicio divino: «Sarón es como un desierto» (Is 33:9).
