Shur — region en la frontera suroeste de Canaan cerca de Egipto, asociada con travesias deserticas y los relatos patriarcales.
Nombre propio que designa una region en el noreste del Sinai, a lo largo de la frontera suroeste de Canaan y el limite oriental de Egipto. Shur aparece vinculado a la huida de Agar (Gen 16:7, 'el camino de Shur'), al territorio donde Abraham peregrinaba (Gen 20:1) y como punto de referencia del territorio ismaelita (Gen 25:18). Tras el Exodo, Israel entro en el 'desierto de Shur' (Exod 15:22). El nombre podria derivar de una palabra que significa 'muro', posiblemente en referencia a una linea de fortificaciones fronterizas egipcias a traves del istmo de Suez, aunque esto sigue siendo objeto de debate.
