Sidim—el valle donde estaban las ciudades del Mar Muerto, posteriormente sumergido
Este nombre de lugar identifica el valle donde se ubicaban Sodoma, Gomorra y las ciudades aliadas antes de su destrucción. Génesis 14:3, 8, 10 localiza la batalla de los reyes en este valle, posteriormente identificado con el Mar Salado (Mar Muerto). El nombre puede relacionarse con 'campos' o 'surcos', aunque las interpretaciones varían. Para cuando se escribió Génesis, este valle antes habitado se había convertido en la cuenca del Mar Muerto, preservando una memoria geográfica del paisaje pre-catastrófico.
