Este adjetivo expresa el estado de estar completamente satisfecho o lleno hasta la saciedad. En su uso más positivo, describe a los patriarcas que murieron «llenos de días»: Abraham (Gn 25:8), Isaac (Gn 35:29), David (1 Cr 29:28) y Job (Job 42:17), señalando una vida llevada a su plena realización. Deuteronomio 33:23 bendice a Neftalí como «lleno del favor de Jehová». Sin embargo, la misma palabra tiene un matiz más sombrío: en Job 10:15 y 14:1 uno puede estar «saciado de aflicción» o «harto de deshonra», mientras que Proverbios 27:7 observa que el apetito saciado desprecia hasta la miel.
