Rezín, rey de Aram-Damasco que se alió con Pécaj contra Judá en la crisis siro-efraimita
Nombre del último rey independiente de Aram-Damasco, cuya fatídica alianza con Pécaj de Israel contra Judá desencadenó uno de los momentos proféticos más trascendentales del Antiguo Testamento. Cuando Rezín y Pécaj marcharon sobre Jerusalén para reemplazar a Acaz con un rey títere, la aterrorizada corte judía recibió la profecía del Emmanuel: 'el Señor mismo os dará señal' (Is 7:1-14). Acaz, en cambio, acudió a Asiria; Tiglat-pileser III respondió conquistando Damasco y dando muerte a Rezín (2 R 16:9), poniendo fin a siglos de independencia aramea.
