Like many Levitical cities, Qartah's exact location is lost, though it was part of the systematic provision for Levites scattered throughout Israel. These cities fulfilled God's plan that Levites, having no tribal territory of their own, would instead dwell among all tribes, teaching Torah and maintaining worship. Every tribe supported Levitical ministry through city grants.
