This verb appears only twice in the Hebrew Bible, both times as a plural imperative urging hearers to 'take counsel' or 'plan together.' The BDB lexicon identifies it as an Aramaic-influenced variant of the more common יעץ (to counsel, advise). In Judges 19:30, the horrified Israelites are urged to deliberate about the Levite's concubine crisis; in Isaiah 8:10, the prophet challenges foreign nations to make their plans—which God will thwart. The Spanish and French glosses capture the deliberative aspect: 'trazad' (devise a plan), 'prendre conseil' (take counsel).
