1. fool, foolish person — A noun (masculine singular and plural) denoting a person who is foolish, senseless, or morally obtuse, used exclusively in Ecclesiastes (Qoh 2:19; 7:17; 10:3, 14 etc.). Both clusters cover the same semantic range -- a stupid or morally deficient person -- differing only in number (singular vs plural) and syntactic framing (with article, preposition, or bare). Multilingual evidence is uniform: eng 'fool / foolish', spa 'necio / necios', hin 'मूर्ख', arb 'سَكَل / جَاهِلُونَ', kor '어리석은 자 / 어리석은', swa 'mpumbavu / wapumbavu'.
