Nombre propio gentilicio que identifica a los meunim o meunitas, un pueblo situado al sur o sureste de Canaán, posiblemente vinculado con la ciudad de Maón en Edom. Aparecen como enemigos derrotados por los simeonitas en tiempos de Ezequías (1 Cr 4:41), como adversarios sometidos por el rey Uzías (2 Cr 26:7) y, en una transformación notable, como sirvientes del templo (netineos) que regresaron del exilio con Zorobabel (Esd 2:50; Neh 7:52).
