Sustantivo masculino usado exclusivamente en estado constructo para expresar un superlativo: «lo mejor de» algo. Aparece en dos contextos narrativos. En la historia de José, Faraón concede a la familia de Jacob «lo mejor de la tierra» de Egipto (Gén 47:6, 11). En la ley de restitución, quien permita que su ganado paste en campo ajeno debe pagar con «lo mejor de su propio campo y lo mejor de su viña» (Éx 22:4). Samuel reprende a Saúl por perdonar «lo mejor de las ovejas y del ganado» (1 Sam 15:9, 15).
