Isaías profetiza que Babilonia se convertirá en «posesión del erizo» (14:23), un páramo desolado. Abdías declara que la casa de Jacob poseerá «sus posesiones», reclamando lo que les corresponde por derecho (17). Job habla metafóricamente de «las posesiones de mi corazón», es decir, sus anhelos más profundos (17:11). El término subraya la titularidad legítima o la herencia prometida.
