Laish (personal name; father of Paltiel, Michal's second husband)
Laish was the father of Paltiel (also called Palti), to whom Saul gave his daughter Michal after David fled. First Samuel 25:44 and 2 Samuel 3:15 name him, though 2 Samuel's Ketiv reads "Lush." The Septuagint shows considerable variation in rendering the name (Αμεις, Σελλης, Λαις, Ιωας, Σελλειμ), reflecting textual uncertainty. This Laish is distinct from the place-name Laish (later Dan) in northern Israel. He appears only through his son's unfortunate role in the David-Saul conflict.

Sentidos
1. sense 1 First Samuel 25:44 identifies Laish as the father of Paltiel, to whom Saul gave Michal in David's absence. All modern languages preserve "Laish" (or variants) as a proper name without translation. This brief mention places Laish in the tragic story of Michal's forced remarriage, though David later reclaimed her, causing Paltiel great grief.
