Cunada; esposa del hermano (viuda) en el contexto del matrimonio levirato
Termino de parentesco que designa a la esposa del hermano de un hombre, usado exclusivamente en el contexto de la ley del matrimonio levirato. En Deuteronomio 25:7-9, se refiere a la viuda que el hermano sobreviviente esta obligado a desposar, y cuya ceremonia publica de quitar la sandalia avergüenza al que se niega. En Rut 1:15, Noemi emplea el termino al instar a Rut a seguir a Orfa — 'tu cunada' — de regreso a Moab. La palabra encierra toda una obligacion legal y familiar en un solo vocablo.
