Tibhath, a Syrian city captured by David from King Hadadezer
Tibhath was a city belonging to Hadadezer, king of Zobah, from which David took large quantities of bronze (1 Chr 18:8). The parallel passage in 2 Samuel 8:8 calls it Betah (or Berothai in some manuscripts), suggesting textual variants or dual names for the same city. The bronze from Tibhath was later used by Solomon to make the temple's bronze sea, pillars, and vessels. The city's location in Aram (Syria) is uncertain.
