1. dig / bore through — To dig, bore, or break through a wall or the ground. The primary meaning of hatar across most occurrences. 2. row (a boat) — To row, meaning to pull oars through water to propel a vessel -- a completely distinct sense from digging. Occurs in Jonah 1:13 where the sailors desperately row to reach shore. The multilingual glosses diverge entirely from the digging sense: Arabic فَجَذَّفَ (rowed/pulled oars), Spanish 'y remaron' (and they rowed), Korean 그러나 노를 저었으니라 (but they rowed), Swahili 'na wakapiga makasia' (and they struck oars), Hindi और खेंचे (and they pulled).
