Estatuto u ordenanza prescrita; regulación vinculante de Dios o de un gobernante, de carácter frecuentemente permanente y ritual.
חֻקָּה es la forma femenina de חֹק y designa un estatuto prescrito u ordenanza promulgada, empleada de manera abrumadora para leyes divinas de carácter permanente y ritual. La frase חֻקַּת עוֹלָם («estatuto perpetuo») se repite a lo largo de Éxodo, Levítico y Números para las regulaciones de la Pascua, los deberes sacerdotales y los ritos del Día de la Expiación (Éx 12:14; Lv 16:29). Sin embargo, חֻקָּה también designa las ordenanzas fijas de la naturaleza: las estaciones señaladas (Jer 5:24) y los decretos cósmicos que gobiernan cielo y tierra (Jer 31:35; 33:25). Español estatuto, francés statut y alemán Satzung la vierten sistemáticamente como ley formal promulgada.
